Local author imagines dogs as angels

Imagine your pet was once an angel, sent down to earth specifically for you.

That's the idea that became the inspiration for a local woman, Cynthia L. Enuton, to write a book and a spinoff creative enterprise.

Enuton's book, Angel in a Fur Coat, which she wrote and illustrated, is a fantasy fiction story, geared toward children ages 7 to 11 — and, of course, dog lovers. She maintains a website dedicated to the story at gooberella.com.

...Enuton is a former mental health counselor who worked with emotionally challenged children and teens, and found that simple interactions with her pet dog helped many of them heal. Today, she and her Pekingese, Xia, are often seen at pet events around town.

Enuton also makes customized "Fur Angel" magnets and necklaces from photos that customers send her.
